Xena: Warrior Princess
Xena Warrior Princess is an action-adventure mini-game created by nrgcore.com for
the Game Jolt Together Jam inspired from the classic Television Series
"Xena: Warrior Princess".
It is a single-player game, which features a third-person, over-the-shoulder
free camera view. The player controls the character Xena in a combination of
slash and chakram slicing combat, and puzzle game elements to achieve goals
and complete the story.
Throughout the game, Xena's main weapon is a sword and a chakram which can
be thrown and summoned back to her hand to hit enemies and certain puzzle
switches to unlock upcoming challenge. Different colors of orbs can be found
in chests or collected through fighting enemies to increase random amount of
health and unlock her maximum power.
The game was created from scratch in 2 weeks by one programmer and one
artist using NRG as a development platform. This half square km forest level was only made possible in
such a short amount of time by taking full advantage of the rapid realtime application
development environment provided by the NRG ecosystem.
